We’re issuing this statement to clear up some confusion and protect the public from ongoing scams that have falsely used our name.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been contacted by individuals—mostly from the Ghana region—who’ve been approached by groups calling themselves “OctaWeb Investments”. These scammers are using our logo and company name to make their offers look legitimate, and in some cases, they’ve convinced people to send large sums of money to “invest.”
To be absolutely clear:
OctaWeb Limited is a UK-based company. We do not operate outside the UK.
We do not offer investment opportunities of any kind.
We are not affiliated with any group using our name or branding for financial schemes.
We’ve issued cease and desist notices to individuals we’ve been able to identify, but unfortunately, these scams often operate from behind fake websites and anonymous accounts. That’s why we’re asking everyone to be cautious. If you’re contacted by anyone claiming to represent OctaWeb, please check that they’re using one of our verified domains. If they’re not, they don’t represent us.
Stay Safe: What You Can Do
The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has shared some helpful advice for spotting and avoiding scams:
Don’t trust unsolicited offers, especially those involving money or investments.
Check URLs and email addresses carefully — scammers often use lookalike domains.
Report suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk
Forward scam texts to 7726 (it’s free).
Use two-factor authentication on your accounts to add an extra layer of protection.
If you think you’ve been targeted or have lost money, contact Action Fraud as soon as possible.
We’re proud to serve our UK clients with transparency and professionalism. If you ever have doubts about a communication claiming to be from OctaWeb, reach out to us directly through our official website.
